 Who Are Invited

We’re teaming up with Athletes in Action to host a soccer camp this summer. Kids ages 6 – 12 (Grades 1 – 6) are invited!

Trained coaches from Athletes in Action excel at developing your child's athletic skills!

 What Will We Do?

We will play soccer, meet new friends, and learn some important life lessons along the way!

Athletes in Action focuses on the Total Athlete - the physical, mental, social, and spiritual. Every camper will receive the attention they need to develop into the Total Athlete.

The Common Place is driven by Christian neighbourly love. Our camp is just one expression of who we are!

 When Is It?

This year’s camp will be from Monday, July 29 – Friday, August 2!

 Where Is It?

Our camp this year will take place on the Field at Summit Middle School and Community Centre.

Things to Know for Parents and Guardians:

What happens if the weather is bad?
The first day of camp will continue as indicated above regardless of the weather. For the remainder of the week, we will contact you 45 minutes before camp begins if the weather prevents camp from continuing. We will play through cloudy and light rain conditions. If the weather looks poor please be sure to send warmer clothes with your child. If the weather conditions become unmanageable during the day we will contact you with instructions.

What should my child bring?

  • Water Bottle (2 if possible — freeze one ahead of time)
  • Shorts (no jeans please) and t-shirt (AIA t-shirt will be provided)
  • Bag Lunch and Snacks
  • Cleats (recommended but not mandatory)
  • Sweater/jacket/rain gear
  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
  • Hat

How many coaches and volunteers will work with my child?

There will be no less than one trained coach from Athletes in Action per 15 children registered. The Common Place and Athletes in Action will also equip the camp with volunteers to ensure there is no less than one coach, staff, or volunteer per 7 children registered.

Are there financial assistance available?

Sometimes, families need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity. Athletes in Action is an accredited organization with Jumpstart by Canadian Tire. Jumpstart provides individual child grants to help remove financial barriers for families to help kids get into camps like our soccer camp by Athletes in Action.

You can apply for a Jumpstart grant with your registration. Grant applications are approved by Jumpstart and not by Athletes in Action or The Common Place. You will need to use the coupon code Jumpstart on the payment screen to register today without payment. You will need to send your proof of application to community@athletesinaction.ca.

Should the Jumpstart program not approve your application or only approve a portion of the registration, you will be responsible to cover the outstanding balance which will be applied to your account.
